The world is growing old, and its population is greying. One in 10 today is over the age of 60. By 2050 this proportion will have doubled to one in five (UN statistics).

This changing demographic marks a new chapter in the history of the world. As pioneers in a new land, we cast around for signposts to help us navigate the territory of the middle years and beyond.

Aging Horizons Bulletin (AHB) is a bimonthly publication for the general reader. The intention of it is to report on current research and offer news and items of interest from around the world that inform and inspire.

AHB publisher, Ruth Dempsey, Ph.D. is an educator and counsellor in private practice, a former professor in Education at the University of Ottawa, and a lecturer in human development and aging.
